As always with end of season meets, this is a great chance to pick up some early qualifiers for next seasons county & regional championships and our swimmers didn't disappoint with 105 Yorkshire Qualifying Times and 65 Regional Qualifying Times achieved. This means that we now have swimmers from every single squad attending Yorkshires, that’s right, including Academy Squad! This is simply amazing and all of us at Dartes are so proud of your efforts. Well done to you all Yorkshire Qualifying Times /ddsc/UserFiles/Image/QuickUpload/fb-sheffield-summer-meet-yorkshire-qualifying-times_076906.pdf NER Qualifying Times /ddsc/UserFiles/Image/QuickUpload/sheffield-meet-ner-qualifying-times_087579.pdf
Back in March our club squad made its first forays into the Barnsley Minor League, the opening fixture seeing us finish comfortably second, some 22 points behind winners Edlington. Lots of lessons were learnt by coaches and swimmers alike ahead of our return to action at our home pool last Sunday. On one of the hottest days of year (as I’m sure those sat on the balcony will confirm) and in front of a packed and very noisy (in a good way!) balcony, DARTES hosted its first BML meet at...
National Squad underwent the big 2000m test set for the first time (and fortunately the last time) this season, and personally what a joy it was to see a mix of fear and excitement as it was announced on poolside. There is nothing fancy about this set, it is all about determination and having the will to push through the pain barrier when your shoulders are screaming for you to stop. Leading the way was Greta Highfield, going out on a very brave 5:08 over the first 400m, following closely...
We’re super excited to announce that Coach Harry has been selected to be the Skills Coach on the Swim England North East Region Open Water Squad working alongside Head Coach Gordon Rea. The Regional Squad forms part of the Swim England national swimming talent pathway and will provide an opportunity for swimmers to develop their technical, tactical and physical open water skills with swimmers of a similar age and ability from across the North East. Swim England introduced this last year to a number of distance specialists who had never...

On Saturday a squad of 44 DARTES swimmers assembled at Adwick leisure centre for the re-introduction to the Doncaster swimming calendar of the METS Teams. This year Adwick, Armthorpe, Dearne Valley, Edlington and DARTES competed for the Bridon Shield and to be crowned the relay champions of our city. For various reasons this meet hasn’t taken place since c2015, so a big thank you to everyone involved, in particular Carol and the crew at Adwick, for restoring this once annual highlight of Doncaster swimming. The DARTES squad had representation from...

Last Sunday at Dearne Valley leisure Centre the club ticked off a significant milestone by competing in it’s very first Barnsley Minor League fixture and in turn re-establishing meaningful competitive swimming for all swimmers throughout our growing club. Coincidentally this weekend perfectly demonstrated the full spectrum of opportunity available at Doncaster DARTES, with our National (and some Regional) squad athletes over at Ponds Forge at a level 1 meet hoping to log early qualifying times for this summer’s Nationals, whilst at the same time swimmers from each of our 5...

Friday night saw 11 of our swimmers take part in the 800/1500 Freestyle with it being a first time over this distamnce for 8 of our swimmers. A special mention to Jessica Eggit for her 1500, coming in at a very impressive 19:14:14! Saturday & Sunday saw all the other events for...
