Doncaster Dartes entered it’s very first DMasa (Doncaster Met’s) this weekend with it’s very own Club Squad. We saw 24 swimmers take part which resulted in a fantastic weekend of racing. It was great to see so many swimmers achieve their own personal goals this weekend which ranged from; Achieving their Yorkshire Qualifying Time, racing in their first 100m Fly event & overcoming their fear of diving in from the poolside. All these were achieved and it’s these small successes which sometimes can mean much more to the individual than...

DARTES' older swimmers (13 yrs+) got back to county competition this weekend at the John Charles Centre. The short course winter meet is always a busy one and comes at a time in the season when most swimmers are busy building their aerobic capacity on the back of a summer away from the pool, rather than really dialling into any kind of speed work. As such it is often a task for the coaching staff to manage swimmers’ expectations of slicing huge chunks of their PB’s – but that’s not...

On Sunday morning some of our younger swimmers competed in the White Rose meet which up until recent years has been an annual team gala which acts as Yorkshire’s qualifier for the national arena leagues final. Typically, the meet attracts all the top clubs in the county however this year’s addition saw a reduced field of only 6. The two big ‘City of’ clubs, Leeds and Sheffield, each fielding an A & B team in addition to Harrogate and of course us, Doncaster DARTES. The meet organisers are confident that...
